Why Modern Spirituality Feels Hollow - Understanding the Spiritual Ego Tree

In today’s very noisy spiritual landscape, flooded with cosmic codes, energy updates, alien prophecies, and channeled transmissions, it can feel nearly impossible to sort truth from theater. This deeply honest (and hard to make) essay holds up a mirror to the modern “Spiritual Ego Tree”. Exposing its roots in fear, its trunk of identity-protection, its branches of performance, and its leaves of ever-changing spiritual fluff. I invite you to pause, breathe, and read with an open heart. This text is not an attack, but a courageous reflection, asking: Where do we perform instead of heal? Where do we chase status instead of presence? Where do we trade soul work for illusions of cosmic importance? This is a gentle but necessary confrontation. It will challenge, provoke, but then hopefully inspire you to return to humble, to honest, and deeply soul-aligned spirituality that is free of spectacle, free of status, or unnecessairy spiritual shopping. Come and reclaim what is sacred.

An Invitation Before You Read

Before you dive in, I really invite you to please pause and breathe.

This writing is not meant to shame you, but I realize there is a chance some may be, or attack you, which I also understand if some of you might be. I also do not mean to dismiss your journey.
This text is meant to be seen as if I hold up a mirror, a mirror that may feel uncomfortable, possibly even painful, and that especially if you have built your spiritual identity on cosmic codes, your business or profession on certifications, divine messages, or status in any kind of way.

If you feel anger, if you feel sadness, or some kind of resistance rising as you read, know that it is perfectly human, and also good because it is a sign that there is Ego inside you that is in the front seat somehow. Because your ego may protest. And that is natural.
But your soul, if you listen closely, may actually sense relief, like a quiet exhale, and it may even make your body feel that too, like an exhale. Why? Your soul knows truth, when it hears it. The ego, on the other hand, will resist. It wants to protect itself and it may feel instantly attacked or threatened. That is simply its nature.

The soul does not have, and never wanted to have, a need to perform. It does not need to be superior, to know secrets revealed by others, or reveal secrets to others. It does not need to chase or collect. Anything. The soul is humble, it is honest, and it is free. Always.

A gentle but important note: The soul, or the higher self, and probably even your team of spirit guides, does not need to broadcast every impression, symbol, or vision that passes through your mind. In fact, most of what arises is for you! For your growth, for your reflection, for your healing.

You do not have to share every message with the world. If someone sincerely asks you to share something about something that you might have knowledge about, and you feel it is honest and soul-aligned to do so, that is one thing. But the soul does not crave to speak to everyone else, to impress anyone, to warn anyone, to correct anyone, or to perform, for anyone.

It only seeks to guide you.

Not every insight is meant to be posted, shared, or made public. Some truths are meant to nourish only you, quietly, in the soil of your own heart.

You may wonder why so many claim their higher self or spirit guides reveal “secrets” or hidden messages for them to share. I believe the truth is this: the soul, and the spirit world itself, hold no secrets in the human sense.

Secrets are a human invention.

Spirit does not need to withhold or conceal, it is authentic and authentic means transparent. It does not trade in exclusivity or specialness, because to the soul, there is no such thing as spiritual hierarchy, privilege, withholding, or secret status, ever. It can not be.
Unless you count the simple truth that every single soul, every single lifeform, is inherently precious.
The soul is transparent by nature. It simply is.
Always open (nothing is hidden), always available, always only loving, and always, always, honest.

The moment someone claims something to be a “secret” only available through that one person, it usually comes from the ego’s hunger to feel important or chosen. The higher self does not feed that hunger, because that hunger does not exist to the soul. The higher self's only mission is the one that guides you back to presence, back to love, back to truth, and truth is never reserved for a privileged few.

This piece is offered to you with respect for the courage it takes to look in the mirror and lovingly witness what that reflection evokes. It is offered to help you remember what is real and what is true, so you can become what you were always trying to be: the whole, deeply loving, soul-aligned, and awake spirit living through the human form and shape of you.

The purpose of the reflections in this text, is to help keep the path of the soul true, to keep it uncluttered, and once again returned to sacred. Spirituality cannot be sacred behind the clutter, hidden inside confusion, and fluff that so many modern communities have layered over it.
We are invited to reclaim what spirituality truly is - a simple, profound, living relationship with our own heart and with the Divine, without any shape or form of spectacle.

May you receive these words with an open heart, and may they serve your highest good.

Introduction

In the spiritual landscape of today, especially across social media, we are flooded with cosmic codes, energy updates, alien prophecies, channeled transmissions, and mystical-sounding identities that seem to have no end at all.
These messages travel at lightning speed and gather devoted audiences within hours.

They create a space where anyone with a need - for recognition, for importance, for belonging - can find an audience for any kind of divine-sounding message or new concept. And yet, so often, we never pause to truly think or reflect. We seem to never get enough.
We seem to never get enough.
We just want more, more, more.

And all the while, we tell ourselves we are the spiritually awake ones.

On the surface, it might appear as though we are in a great age of awakening, many seems to think so, that we are finally remembering who we are. But if you look closer, something is missing. Because beneath all the dazzling terms, the initiations, and promises, there is a profound loss of the most essential quality of all: soul-alignment. And that alone is the clearest proof that we are still very far from true awakening.

Soul work is simple. It is grounded, honest, direct, and humble. It asks us to face ourselves, to heal, to live with integrity and compassion. But the modern spiritual scene often resists simplicity. Instead, it spins elaborate stories (it seems to love that), creates cosmic hierarchies (yummy), and builds an identity out of “specialness.” It swaps the language of the old ego, you know the one with money, status, power, greed, hoarded wealth, for the language of the new spiritual ego - codes, dimensions, missions, star lineages, and secret but true (and often ancient) knowledge.

This might sound harsh, but it needs to be said: most of what passes for modern spirituality is ego work, wearing a spiritual costume.

It satisfies our hunger for meaning and certainty, but it also traps us in illusions that keep us from truly growing.

This post will go deep, it has to, and it will be naming patterns that may hurt many of us to hear, especially if you have built a business, a community, or a sense of self around them. My intention is not to shame you, but to invite reflection. The truth is, these patterns live in all of us to some degree, and seeing them clearly is the beginning of real spiritual maturity.

So let us explore the Spiritual Ego Tree of knowledge, information and performance. Its roots, its trunk, its branches, and its leaves. Through this image, we can see why so many “spiritual” teachings feel off to so many of us, and how to return to the clean, quiet path of the soul.

Why Spiritual Information Overflows Today

If you have spent time in modern spiritual circles, you know what I am talking about, you also know the pattern: an endless river of cosmic updates, DNA activations, mystery codes, planetary alignments, alien alliances, energetic transmissions, scribbles from anyone claiming to carry a secret language -even something a child might invent, is suddenly declared holy- and prophecies of what’s about to happen next.

This is what I call Spiritual Theater.
It is a drama, a performance, a grand story that feels alive and meaningful — yet usually has no solid ground beneath it. Spiritual theater is designed to captivate the imagination, stir hope, and keep the audience returning for the next installment, just like a never-ending cosmic soap opera.

Almost like this theater here..

It reminds me of this scene from Thor Ragnarok, the Marvel film, where Loki, disguised as Odin, watches a play about his own glorious death, soaking in the applause for a story that isn’t even true. The spectacle is mesmerizing, but behind the curtain, the real Loki is still hiding and he has to reveal himself since Thor sees through the charade. In the same way, spiritual theater today invites us to celebrate illusions, until, like Loki, we are finally forced to reveal - and face- our true selves.

I also call it the swamp - because it really drags us down. We drown in the need to know (ego feeding), to become experts (ego feeding), and to make sure we haven’t missed something essential that might stop us from ascending. And honestly, it is devastating to see, because it keeps us so busy, and so far from our souls journey.

But why does it hook us so easily?

Because now, the ego uses spirituality to feel special. It found a new stage. When we, ordinary humans, experience feels too plain, maybe too ordinary and boring, too painful, or too uncertain, the ego makes us reach for something extraordinary. It invents -on this stage- cosmic titles, higher missions, galactic codes — anything to transform an ordinary, vulnerable human life into a glorious cosmic adventure. This feels far more satisfying than sitting with one’s actual pain or confusion. And I completely understand that. I have been there myself at one point in life. Years ago, I began digging into all kinds of esoteric things, but back then (thank God) therte was no Internet to speak of to find things on, no social media besides maybe ICQ (for those who remembers that), so it didnt go further then the philosophies in Buddhism, Hinduism, Norse mythology, Tarot, numerology and Runes. But eventually, I left it all behind, only to temporarily escape instead into the world of MMORPGs around 2007. Gaming, too, helped keep me away from pain and deeper introspection. It allowed me to create a persona, a fairytale identity, a separate character that felt like a more exciting stage than my otherwise chaotic and painful life.

Because, think about it for a moment: it isn’t hard to imagine ourselves as a beautiful spirit entity from some distant planet, living in a magnificent city, or to believe we are in communication with a beautiful being somewhere in the galactic field - and that we alone are the chosen receiver of these messages. Then we share them, and the reactions come, and suddenly we become someone.

Just writing that, I can see the movie and images playing in my head, and I can feel the connection.
It is so easy. And it can feel so real.

Another powerful mechanism is, I think, complexity. If something sounds complicated, if it is packed enough with special symbols, sacred geometries, hidden star maps, or impossible-to-verify laws, it feels authoritative to the human mind. If we can also create vivid images, beautiful ones with fantasy and cosmic themes from AI tools, then even better! Because we can dream ourselves there. We tend to believe that if something is elaborate, it must be deep, even if its substance is hollow. And as humans, we love mystery, the esoteric, and mesmerizing art.
The more complex and beautiful, the better.

Because we do, don’t we? And we fall for it, again and again.

Our deep fear of uncertainty is also a driving force. Life is unpredictable, sometimes it is so deeply painful we can not stand it, and it is always changing. The ego cannot stand this. So it grabs onto anything that promises some kind of order, any shape or form of predictability, or a guaranteed path: cosmic maps, spiritual hierarchies, even conspiracies.
The more certain the system sounds, the safer the ego feels.

At the same time, dopamine also plays a role. Our brains love novelty! New codes, new activations, new transmissions -they are almost like a orgasm to our brain! Each new spiritual concept is a hit of novelty, like clickbait for the brain disguised as something important for the soul. And the excitement of decoding all these symbols, chasing patterns, searching for repeated numbers to build meaning, and then sharing these messages becomes a very addictive pattern.

Then there is the important word: belonging. Shared language -whether in a spiritual community or a galactic starseed group- gives people a tribe. It creates a sense of family, a sense of “us,” which soothes the loneliness that many feel in a disconnected world. And belonging is important. We all deserve it. We all belong. It is only the heartless, soulless systems and the invented, hollow values of modern society that make us feel otherwise.

The real tribe -the soul-connected, honest, compassionate one- is still possible.

And finally, there is critical thinking, yes, that essential quality that so often goes straight out the window, right when we need it most. It just seems to magically pop off to somewhere else. In many spiritual circles, questioning is dismissed as “low vibration” or labeled as “ego resistance.” And low vibrations? Huuuuh, we all know what some people think about those, don’t we?

Doubt gets framed as a flaw, so the community can remain unchallenged, unreflective, and comfortably locked inside its illusions.

These forces together might explain some of the reasons of why spiritual information overflows today, and this is not as a sign of a pure awakening, but many times as a symptom of ego theater on a cosmic scale.

Anyone Can Say Anything...
..........And It Cannot Be Questioned....

One of the most overlooked realities in modern spirituality is how astonishingly easy it is to produce a “channeled message” or a cosmic text. It is wild, really! You (or I) can invent a perfectly human-sounding personality, call it an alien race, and the job is done. The instant likes, shares, and enthusiastic “yes!” from an eager audience are immediate. The vast majority of what gets passed around as a sacred transmission could, quite literally, be written by anyone, anyone, including, these days, an AI.

Yet these messages are rarely questioned, if ever, because they come beautifully cloaked in the authority of a higher self, a spirit guide, or an alien emissary. Once something is framed as a divine or cosmic communication, it is more likely to be accepted than examined, and to challenge it feels taboo.

Channeling can be manufactured. That is the hard truth. The style is simple to imitate, because it has a poetic language, grand metaphors, an itsy bitsy sprinkle of mystery, a hint of prophecy (noone knew except for now it is revealed!), a message of reassurance that “all is well,” "and as it should be," and enough coded vocabulary to make it sound exclusive. This formula can be repeated endlessly, and with enough emotional resonance, people will believe it came from angels, star beings, or divine councils.

An example:

🌀 Transmission from the Celestial Collective of the Sapphire Star Realms 🌀

Beloved Seeker of the Light,

We greet you now through the crystalline pathways of the Eternal Radiance. As the Sapphire Star Realms align once more with the spiral codex of your earth’s ascension gates, a great harmonic restoration unfolds.

Hear this, dear one: the tides of cosmic remembrance wash through you now. You are entering the Gate of the Ninth Harmonic, a portal unseen by any before you, revealed only in this moment of your soul’s divine preparation.

Trust that all is well, for you are precisely where you must be, encoded with the light-seeds you have carried through countless incarnations. Nothing has been lost. Nothing has been forgotten.
Your path was laid down before the spheres began their dance.

Know that your DNA spiral is awakening, responding to the signature frequencies of the Celestial Collective. In the coming weeks, you will feel subtle shifts within your field, tiny pulses of crystalline vibration.
Welcome them.
Breathe them.
They are realigning your presence with the perfect blueprint of your cosmic design.

Do not fear. It is as it should be. The darkness is only the shadow of your own magnificent remembering. Stand in your pillar of diamond light. Anchor it. Hold steady.

Those who resonate will hear these words and know the truth. Those who cannot see are simply not ready. That is as it should be.

We stand with you beyond the veil, ever-present, ever-guiding, in love that is beyond love.

🌀 Transmission complete. 🌀

See how simple it is to generate a “channelled” text with those exact ingredients?

With the arrival of modern artificial intelligence (AI) tools, this has become even more concerning, and frankly, it scares me. Not because of the thing itself, but it keeps the masses occupied with anything but, the soul-work. A large language model can easily produce entire books of “channelled wisdom” if you feed it the right prompt - a perfect spiritual vocabulary, references to multiple dimensions, a soothing and calm tone, and all kinds of cosmic symbolism. It will output an impressively coherent text that feels spiritual, sounds spiritual, and is indistinguishable from what many self-styled channels produce by hand. Just as I showed above with my own "channelled text".

This is where the power of language becomes so dangerous. And the lack of questioning makes it even more dangerous. Language, that is beautifully arranged, can give the illusion of depth even when it is completely empty. It can bypass a person’s critical thinking and go straight into their hopes, their fears, and longing for reassurance. The mind relaxes into the poetry and stops asking if there is actually any substance underneath.

This is mystical clickbait, the language is purely engineered to trigger a response, to keep people engaged, sharing, and returning for more, without ever giving them a clear, in any form grounded, or even a verifiable truth.

That is why discernment is so vital. Discernment means questioning where a message really comes from. Discernment means asking:

  • Does this help me live more truthfully?

  • Does this make me kinder, more courageous, more present?

  • Or does it inflate my ego with a sense of cosmic importance?

In an age where anyone can say anything, and do it beautifully, the only true safeguard is the humble, the patient, and soul-centered discernment.

“Where we stand now is chaotic, a clutter of signs, tools, rules, and spiritual debris, so tangled it is hard to even breathe.
We feel caged in, fenced by endless shoulds and musts, forced into illusions of what we ‘have to’ become. But beyond that chaos lies a simpler way: a peaceful soul path, gently climbing toward the vastness of our own wholeness. Leave behind the confusion. Step past the fences. The soul’s path is always waiting, calm, honest, and free.”

The Tree Metaphor
- The Spiritual Ego Tree in Full Detail

To help us truly see these patterns, I want to show you the image of The Spiritual Ego Tree.

A tree is a living system. Its visible beauty is always depending on its hidden structures underground, and its growth depends on the nourishment — or poison — in its roots.
Spiritual ego works exactly the same way.

Let’s explore this tree layer by layer.

Roots (hidden underground)

At the very bottom, deep in the subconscious, lie the roots. These are the buried fears that feed the entire structure of spiritual ego — even though we might claim to be spiritual and to have “worked through” these kinds of feelings.

  • Fear of emptiness

  • Fear of meaninglessness

  • Fear of insignificance

  • Fear of death

  • Fear of suffering

  • Resistance to uncertainty

  • Avoidance of radical self-honesty

These roots are universal. Every human being has felt them — I have, you have — whether we name them or not. These are the fears that whispers, like a monster under the bed at night:

  • “What if I’m nothing?”

  • “What if I disappear?”

  • “What if I am alone?”

The ego cannot tolerate questions like these, because they are so painful to an ego that desperately wants to be important, to make a difference, to seem successful and worthy. So the ego grows a grand structure to cover them up.

The Trunk (stem)

The trunk is the core structure of the ego (in this spiritual ego tree metaphor).
It carries all the energy from the roots upward and holds everything together.

In the spiritual context, the trunk is:

  • The ego itself

  • The need to stay in control

  • Protecting its identity

  • Fearing its own dissolution

  • Growing defensive whenever, and however, threatened

The trunk is how the ego organizes its fears into a sense of self. Even if that self is spiritual, enlightened, or “on a mission,” it is still the same trunk - only decorated with a mystical bark.

The Branches (outward show)

From the trunk, the tree grows branches - the spiritual illusions that look impressive but grow from fear and ego defense:

  • Spiritual performance (sharing messages to prove spiritual status)

  • Complex codes, rituals, or initiations

  • Conspiracies about cosmic wars and planetary takeovers

  • Spiritual shopping - endlessly consuming new tools and methods

  • In-group tribal language (“We are the chosen ones, they are asleep”)

  • Toxic positivity - refusing to acknowledge the shadow, the anger, the grief (even though these emotions carry powerful teachings about ourselves - denying them is a form of bypassing)

  • Spiritual bypassing - using spirituality to avoid psychological healing

  • Fast-tracked certifications — turning people into “healers,” “activators,” or “coaches” after only a few hours of online courses, without the depth or humility of real soul work, yet granting titles to provide instant spiritual status

These branches can be seductive, very seductive, because they look like growth. But they are only extensions of the ego’s trunk, growing out of unexamined fear.

The Leaves (surface messages)

And finally, the leaves. These are the fluttering, ever-changing bits of information people share constantly - the things so many feel compelled to leave behind for others, so they too will get hooked on them and focus there, instead of on their own true soul journey:

  • Channeled messages

  • Alien arrival dates

  • Energy updates

  • Quick-fix enlightenment tips

  • Comfort slogans like “You are on the right track, no matter what.”

Leaves are the easiest to spot, and they are the least stable. They change with every new solar flare, every channeler’s mood, every new “download.” They provide constant novelty and reassurance, like spiritual dopamine hits, but they rarely go deeper than the surface.

Together, these layers show how the spiritual ego functions as a living system, its own ecosystem:

  • fed by fear

  • structured by identity

  • decorated by performance

  • topped with a swirl of comforting but shallow messages

This is the Spiritual Ego Tree.
It is very, very, powerful, beautifully persuasive, and absolutely very capable of blocking true soul growth - both for the deliverers (those sharing them) and the receivers (those consuming them).

The Underlying Force
What Really Fuels the Spiritual Ego Tree?

After exploring the layers of the Spiritual Ego Tree, the question naturally arises:
So what is truly feeding this entire structure?

The simplest answer to me, is fear. Fear is the soil in which the spiritual ego grows. Fear of meaninglessness, fear of emptiness, fear of annihilation. These primal types of anxieties are at the root of every distraction and every illusion.

The ego’s core mission is self-protection. It is a survival mechanism, and it will do anything to keep its identity intact. Even if the identity changes from “ordinary person” to “spiritual starseed cosmic hero,” the pattern is the same: it is to protect, to control, and to defend. The ego uses spiritual ideas to armor itself against the unknown, because the unknown feels terrifying.

And this fear is not only what drives those who deliver these messages, but also what hooks those who receive them. It creates a fully self-sustaining ecosystem where one side produces illusions to soothe its fear, while the other side consumes illusions to soothe the exact same fear. No one questions it, because to question would mean confronting the rawness and uncertainty of simply being human.

This fear blocks radical self-reflection. Soul work requires asking hard questions, facing painful truths, and acknowledging the rawness of being human. That is an uncomfortable, uncertain process. Many people, understandably, prefer the certainty of grand cosmic narratives instead.

Then comes group reinforcement. Within spiritual communities, these stories are amplified and validated. Shared language, shared illusions, shared cosmic conspiracies. They create a tribe, a sense of belonging. And when a group normalizes the illusions, challenging them feels threatening to your social survival. So people rather conform, and let the illusions persist.

There is also spiritual materialism, a term first coined by Chögyam Trungpa. This describes how spirituality itself can become another commodity, another product to acquire. Certifications, transmissions, activations, DNA upgrades, ascension blueprints, yes all kinds of things. The modern spiritual marketplace thrives on selling solutions to spiritual fear.

Finally, we must accnowledge the consumer culture. Our entire society trains us from birth to consume, to collect, and to build identity through external achievements. It is no surprise that spirituality, once it meets consumer culture, turns into a shopping mall of cosmic goods. The same mindset that buys clothes or cars can be transferred to buying initiations or codes.

Put all these forces together - all the fear, ego protection, blocked self-reflection, group validation, and consumer conditioning - and voilà, here we have the perfect environment for the Spiritual Ego Tree to grow tall, wide, and completely unstoppable.

Unless, of course, you choose to uproot it with truth.

Naming the Pain

It is important to pause here and acknowledge a difficult truth: this message will hurt.
It will sting, especially for those who have built their businesses, income, reputations, and social influence around spiritual ego structures.

If your entire work, identity, or sense of worth is based on:

  • spiritual rankings (higher initiations, higher vibrations, higher dimensions)

  • claiming to carry “secret codes”

  • offering high-ticket certifications for spiritual superiority

  • selling exclusive transmissions that only you can deliver

  • or basically anything described in the whole text

- then this conversation will feel threatening.

And that is understandable. I really do understand that. When we invest years of effort, money, relationships, and our entire sense of identity into a spiritual hierarchy, having it questioned feels like having the ground pulled out from under us.

But true spiritual honesty demands that we name this:

If your spirituality is tied to your sense of superiority, it is not soul-aligned.

Soul work is about humility, about presence, and about radical equality. It is about dissolving illusions of status, not building new ones with prettier cosmic labels. The soul does not care if you are a “12D priestess” or a “starseed commander”, it really doesn't - it cares about whether you are honest, if you are becoming more truly loving, and more awake to the truth of your heart.

This is not an attack. It is not meant as an attack. It is a door that opens up for you to free yourself from a spiritual system that quietly traps you in the same patterns of ego that you might have once tried to leave behind.

Yes, it will be painful to let these illusions go. But it is far more painful in the long run to live a life built on false superiority, keeping up appearances, forever chasing the next code or status upgrade.

Soul work is what remains when the costumes fall away. And it will, sooner or later.

The Medicine

After naming all these patterns and illusions, you might ask:
So what now?
What do I do instead?

The answer is simple, though not always easy. Return to soul work.
Build on authentic spiritual practice.

  • Return to soul work.

  • Build it on honesty, on quietness, on true presence.

  • Release the need to perform, to share, or to chase.

This is what aligned with every genuine spiritual tradition - from mystical Christianity to Zen to Sufism.

Soul work is humble. It is direct. It is grounded in presence and honesty. It does not seek status or identity. It does not require cosmic codes, rituals, or secret transmissions. It never did, it never will.
Soul work is about tending to what is true and healing what is unhealed within you. And there is a lot that is unhealed in the spiritual community.

This path is simple because it strips away illusions - but it is not easy, because it demands courage. Courage to see yourself without filters. Courage to own your shadows and your gifts. Courage to show up as a human being, imperfect and alive, in a world that constantly pushes you toward fantasies of perfection or superiority. Courage to change - and to show up changed.

Soul work is about cultivating presence. About living in the here and now with integrity, compassion, and love. It is about telling the truth to yourself and to others, even when it costs you comfort or belonging. We know this. But somehow, this leaves the stage in this case - though we demand it in all other areas of life, and society.

There is nothing to buy. There is nothing to decode. There is no missing code or cosmic puzzle piece you must chase to finally be “ready.”

Support is welcome, of course - all space-holders, and therapists, wise friends, mentors, and yes of course healers who have done their work, coaches who have done their work. These companions can witness you, encourage you, and mirror you back to yourself with love. But they cannot fix you, because the soul does not need to be fixed. It needs to be revealed and honored.

When you are soul-aligned, you are ready. Ready for heartbreak, ready for joy, ready for loss, ready for love, ready for death — ready for whatever may come. That is true spiritual resilience.

Final Reflection

Let us return, one last time, to the image of the Spiritual Ego Tree.

Picture its roots buried deep in fear, its trunk of ego trying to hold a solid sense of self, its branches of impressive performances, and its leaves fluttering with ever-changing spiritual messages. It is an impressive tree, even beautiful in a way - but if its roots are unexamined, it cannot bear true fruit.

It is sterile.

I am holding up a mirror for you to to look honestly at your own tree. No one is excluded from this inquiry. We all, at times, build illusions to protect ourselves from fear, from pain, and from the feeling of uncertainty. We all, at times, slip into spiritual theater to feel worthy or safe.
That does not make you, or me, bad or unworthy - it simply makes you human.

So again, this is not an attack. This is not a condemnation.
This is a mirror for reflection to see clearly.
An invitation to stand infront of it, in all nakedness, in all honesty.

If you can sit with your roots - all the fear of emptiness, all the fear of insignificance, and maybe fear of death - with true compassion and honesty, you can begin to transform the entire tree. You can soften the trunk of the ego. You can let go of the branches that distract you. You can release the leaves that flutter in a spiritual wind.

Gentle self-reflection is the true medicine.

Ask yourself:
Where do I still perform?
Where do I cling to spiritual status?
What am I afraid to feel?
What illusions comfort me, and am I willing to let them go?

Where do I have a need to share - and might that sharing actually pull others away from their true journey?

These questions may hurt at first, but they will set you free. When you bring your presence, your true humility, and all of your honesty, to your inner world, you reconnect with the soul - that quiet, trustworthy ground within you that is always enough, just as it is.

No codes. No downloads. No cosmic identity. No secrets that has to be shared or revealed. Nothing besides your own true journey of the soul.

Just the simple, yet profound, and honest work of being fully alive.
